Enabling your teaching
The Library is your partner in education. If you are an academic staff member at Monash we offer a range of services to enable your teaching and your students' learning.
Information research and learning skills
Contact Library staff to develop a program that will meet the needs of your students and curriculum in achieving Monash graduate attributes. A variety of self help resources are also available through the Library website.
Finding resources
Information about using the library’s extensive print and electronic collections is available online and in person for individuals and groups.
Reading lists
We create web pages for reading lists that provide students with easy, direct access to your teaching unit material. We ensure compliance with copyright laws, place special access conditions on popular items and arrange purchase and digitisation of materials.
Further detail and contact information is available on the Readings and Reserve Services page and from the 'About the reserve service' brochure (pdf 72kb, rtf 20kb)
Requests to purchase material
We encourage you to suggest the purchase of material for your teaching. Discuss with your contact librarian or fill in the form.
Supporting new or changing courses with appropriate resources
New academic initiatives must include a 'Library Impact Statement'
(doc 56kb, rtf
102kb, pdf 150kb). Your contact
librarian can help you to prepare this document.
Recording lectures for access via the web
Use our online
form to request the recording of your lectures. For more information see the Monash
University Lectures Online page.
Borrowing books
Staff and students may borrow material from all Monash University libraries and can pick up items from the campus of their choice. Registering for a CAVAL card at your branch library allows you to borrow from any Victorian university or TAFE. There is also a reciprocal scheme with many interstate universities (enquire at the library concerned).
Staff and postgraduates may request material not available at Monash University Library through our Document Delivery Service.
